で、勘違いknmに続きましてnrsも描いてみた。
A digital sculpture (and an overwhelming collage of screenshots of it) of the fossil skull KNM ER 1813, assigned to the hominid species Homo habilis. This was rendered in Sculptfab and SculptGL, opened in 3D Builder to screenshot it, and then color graded in Photopea, 2019

色違いも買っちゃったから着せたくてさあ。knmが黒こっそり買ってたりしたらハアハアする…ԅ(//́Д/̀/ԅ)
currently working on the last page of KNM chapter 2, hoping that i manage to finish it by either monday or tuesday
But another fossil that associates a mandible and cranial material is OH 13, and that also shows a number of dental and mandibular similarities with KNM-ER 992, as Bernard Wood has repeatedly emphasized. In those ways, OH 13 is actually different from OH 7, the habilis holotype.
KNM-ER 992 was one of the #hominin fossils discovered by Richard Leakey's field team that were claimed as holotypes for species named by other scientists: in this case Homo ergaster. This "taxonomic scramble" of the 1970s and 1980s left a harmful legacy in #paleoanthropology
Panel grab from the next page of KNM. The page is a WIP but I liked this enough to post by itself. Made the BG by layering stock photos of dye swirls, then painting over it with dark purple on a multiply layer
Gideon is unsettled...as usual
KNM-ER 1470 and KNM-ER 62000 died near the shore of the same lake, but some 100,000 years apart. That's a lot of time for population movement and change. For a species that may have existed for much longer, it is a thin strand that we have uncovered so far.
KNM-ER 3733 helped establish that #hominin evolution was a branching tree and not a straight line. Alan Walker famously cracked the skull into three pieces with a chisel to remove the hard rock from inside, enabling reconstruction of the face. #paleoanthropology #FossilFriday
One of the most amazing fossils I have studied is KNM ER 18925, a complete skull and mandible of Theropithecus oswaldi that allowed me to reconstruct the animal's head with unusual confidence. Exepctional specimens like this are a paleoartist's dream! #FossilFriday
