The Vale of Wales, Ch 10 Pg 28; Here comes Cernunnos aka the Green Man, aka Hu Gadarn heralding Beltane's annual repaving of Annwn's pathways. In legend, he introduced ploughing to Wales. In VOW, he's Annwn's Guardian Spirit of non-speaking animals, during the rest of the year.

A Lamina (Lamia) is a Basque river maiden who sits upon a river bank combing her beautiful hair. She is irresistible. Also helpful- if you leave a gift for her she might plough your fields for you. Most importantly, she has the feet of a duck. 🦆

People often ask me what the patterns signify - is it the earth or roots? The answer? All and none! I just love pulling colours and patterns together that symbolise nature, but by tapering the patterns and drawing the trees, it's more self-consciously a field with ploughed lines.

‘We plough the seeds & scatter’, is one of the most performed hymns in the UK, written by German poet Claudius.
John Betjeman parodied it as "We spray the fields & scatter the poison on the land" in protest against modern farming methods.

"Is my team ploughing
That I was used to drive
And hear the harness jingle
When I was man alive?
Ay, the horses trample
The harness jingles now;
No change though you lie under
The land you used to plough.."

Terence went third (11%), and I got a little weird with him.
Mostly part-arachnid, part-crustacean. The pincers felt sort of like an equivalent to his plough, somewhat.
That probably may not be the same case for the engines, however.
