Celebrating waggling #pollinators on #WorldBeeDay . By dancing in various ways, honey bees communicate direction & distance from food sources, water or new nest sites. #sciart #scicomm. Btw, I illustrate fish, insects & all things biological, #AnimalArtistsUnite.

My painting is Fig. 1 in a paper out today in @NatureComms! @JohnsonEcology and his collaborators developed a fully-parameterized eco-evolutionary model to explain how #mutualisms, such as plant-pollinator interactions, evolved. #sciart https://t.co/En7dcd3qbg
We love this initiative from @LBHF making space for pollinators by letting grass grow wild in the borough throughout May. William Morris would have definitely approved! Why not join in if you have a lawn? #NoMowMay https://t.co/4ned4B4Ee3
This Bolbophyllum is from W J Hooker's A Century of Orchidaceous Plants (1849). In #ExtraordinaryOrchids, @SandyKnapp writes how the dark delicate hairs are thought to lure the dipteran pollinators of these tiny flowers by imitating a fly mating swarm #flyfriday #RareBooks
The UK’s wild pollinators just want @marksandspencer to notice them 🐝 #MaryTheMiningBee
How & where are you sowing your @seed_ball 🐝 this #Spring ? 😁

Daito Fruit Bat
As the name suggests, the Daito Fruit Bat mostly feeds on fruits but also on flowers, leaves and, rarely, insects. They're important as pollinators and drop seeds of digested food up to almost 2 kilometers far away from the parent trees.

@kroovv Here are two of my OCs for this trying time, the first one befriends ghosts and drunkenly lectures people about the value of pollinator species and the second one is very good at making terrible decisions
