It was a pleasure to speak to artist Jonathan Comerford whose life was transformed after he walked into an Aberdeen printmaking studio in the 1980s. He has since battled apartheid and discrimination and wants new links between Aberdeen and Cape Town!

To earn a living as an artist, he did what I did and became an illustrator. He was successful, too. He was known for his blotted ink style (showing an early love of printmaking techniques), and an association with luxury shoe brands. (That’s his mother’s cursive, btw)
