the extreme and sculptural photography of Manfred Thierry Mugler.
It's remarkable how he's been able to translate his language across different mediums
“Chairs in a design sense are their articulation and their sculptural quality,” wrote Eliot Noyes in an #Eames LCW article in the Sept '46 issue of Arts & Architecture. “The success with which lightness and elegance have been combined with strength enhances this articulation.”

Contrary to popular belief, Von Oppenheim was NOT first to know of the sculptures of the tell. It was the Iraqi-Assyrian archaeologist Hormuzd Rassam who first heard about the site in 1882, sent his representative to Tell Halaf, and confirmed the presence of sculptural ruins.(5)
I love bringing the human face to either sculptural or graphic extremes in art. Soon, I will be taking a "head and hands" workshop, hoping to level up my depictions of this enigmatic subject. For now, enjoying this throwback: '100 heads challenge' sketches🌿
So, bit of painting I think. Top tip for beginners (@Paul_not_Ringo), you’re not doing it right if more paint ends up on the painting than on the palette. My palette is sculptural. QED I am a master.
#LFW @JW_ANDERSON AW20 Satin dresses, created with metal, were compacted and twisted in order to produce a surreal effect. While some knitwear pieces were constructed out of circular knits, resulting almost as sculptural artwork: https://t.co/RYwgEYJVT6
It’s near the end of #PortfolioDay!
I work as a concept artist for Unbroken Studios. I have ADHD, but I try to take advantage by using hyperfocus to create believable lighting and sculptural form!

Prudence Heward (1896-1947) (https://t.co/5DyJTFoBka) was a Canadian painter celebrated for her sculptural forms, defiant figures, and expressionistic colours. I think her portrait of "Mrs Zimmerman" (1943) is really excellent.

Photographs from the "Rewriting History" series by Haitian-born American artist Fabiola Jean-Louis, 2010s, with models wearing sculptural dresses made of paper in what the artist terms an "exploration into the relationship between history, memory, and identity"

This painting is very closely linked to another of Fergusson's works, 'Gloxinias and Fuchsias' also painted in 1938. It shares the same enlarged scale and sculptural treatment of form, plus an emphasis on colour and curving line and pattern.
