I just realized that when I’m choosing a character’s name, I try out names with different numbers of syllables to hear how they sound & fit into the line(s) I’m writing.

Does anyone else do this or something like it? 🤔

A retake for Accrington Stanley. The oak branch in the crest is trebly allusive to the name. It is bent into the shape of its initial letter; oak (Anglo-Saxon ‘ac’) expresses the first syllable; and the acorns recall the old form of the name, Akerenton.
