Day 1 (catchup posting) I decided to base them off the Elder Futhark runes. First is Fehu. Based on an old Icelandic poem, “wealth is a source of discord amongst kin, and fire of the sea, and path of the serpent.”

As the first rune of the Elder Futhark, Fehu symbolises new beginnings.
When I think of new beginnings, I think of the beginning of life, which are babies and children.

The runes on the handle of the Astora Straight Sword are actually legible words, written in a mix of Elder and Younger Futhark. Loki, a Souls mod author, and her friend Untz identified and translated the text:
