the confusion continues - the default boxart for Sonic Mania on Steam is now... a Dreamcast box template!?

day 7

because its too hard to draw snatcher in the style of anything else I like I instead drew the prince but vocaloid adjacent and somewhat imitating the style of kaito's v3 boxart. I dont mean to keep drawing these in different styles lmao

I mean I think both of these boxarts look fine though I love how the older style of the Mario & Luigi artworks look with the black emblems on the hats and the shade of green Luigi had.

I can't believe Sonic 1 copied Sonic 4's boxart design.

I wish Smash Ultimate had continued the tradition of creating a piece of artwork for its newcomers, often with artists of their original games.

Could you imagine the Banjo-Kazooie boxart remade with Smash themed characters, drawn by ??

The Double Dragon 3 postcard looks very similar to the boxart they used for the Famicom version, which I always suspected was done by Tsutomu Ando (who did the box/manual art for Return, Shodai Nekketsu and probably the SFC Combatribes), but the postcard is signed by a "Ben".

Was chatting with about the Super Famicom version of Super's superior boxart, so I whipped this concept up quick in photoshop. (low res, not for printing) I think it could've possibly worked. They didn't necessarily need to redraw it.
