Ferocious #FossilFriday! Let me introduce you to the Late Miocene North American Eucyon ferox (previously Canis ferox), here in a wonderful #reconstruction by @FlaviaStrani.
Wanna know what its #diet was?
Read it in the work by me and Prof. Rook:

@FishGuyKai Don’t forget Rainerichthys (Rainer Zangerl) and like half of all eugeneodont genera are honorific too! (Reconstruction by Joschua Knuppe)
Now: "King Lear (Redacted and Reconstructed)," a poem by Julianne Neely @juleneely, the author of THE BODY BESIDE HERSELF (@SlopeEditions).

And now the reconstruction itself
Juvenile Guanlong wucaii based on a nearly complete paratype specimen (IVPP V14532).
Despite being well preserved it’s not very well described but I hope it’ll change in the future

#FossilFriday 🇧🇴This tiny interathere #notoungulate jaw from #Bolivia is now the holotype of a #newspecies, Juchuysillu ("small hoof" in Quechua) arenalesensis (the fossil site). Reconstruction by @VelizarSim w. a mesothere notoungulate behind it. Published in @ameghiniana
@TetZoo It's not unrecognizable as basilosaurus but also it's not very good
Reconstructions forget that it was a noodle shaped thing specialized for prey smaller than itself
Before 2013, we had little idea of what Deinocheirus was really like since we only knew of its giant arms. Here are a few reconstructions of what people used to think it might look like.
A fun #paleoart comparison for #FossilFriday: Pterodactylus restored by Jean Hermann in 1800 vs. Pterodactylus restored by me, 220 years later. Hermann's pterosaur is the oldest known 'legit' piece of palaeoart - a fossil-based life reconstruction based on science, not mythology.
I have been wanting to reconstruct Entelodonts for a while, so for today’s #MammalMonday I decided to sketch this Daeodon, a huge entelodon with a 90 cm skull that lived in the Oligocene and Miocene of North America. I really enjoyed this one #paleoart #sciart
Some Scottish Castle locations used in the filming of Netflix's @OutlawKing (watercolour reconstruction suggestions of orginal medieval buildings) Blackness, Linlithgow, Craigmillar and Borthwick. The first three were also used as locations for #Outlander #ScottishCastles
Two more Paleoart reconstructions: Russellosaurus; a small, primitive mosasaur from Late Cretaceous USA, and Veterupristisaurus; the oldest known probable Carcharodontosaurid from the Late Jurassic of Tanzania.

here's zoom. messed up the layers on this file really really badly and had to reconstruct mostly from early wip screenshot ;_; i feel like a successful frankenstein
@WB_Baskerville This isn’t what science agrees T.rex looked like. This is a very badly made model. If you want to know what scientists think it looked like may have looked like here’s a few examples of well made reconstructions
Finished life reconstruction of #Ichthyovenator laosensis for its @wikipedia article! Based on my updated skeletal diagram. Took a lot of time and research but the final result was definitely worth it. #paleoart #naturalhistory #paleontology #scientificillustration
I'm finishing up my latest reconstruction for @DinosaurJourney!

Found another thing in the files of Shadows of Almia. Kellyn and Kate when switching to Top Ranger status should have the same uniform as Sven and Wendy. Original files and reconstruction below. #PokemonRanger
