Wartortle doesn’t really do it for me either. I get what they were going for with the wispy tail and wing-like ear things but it just detracts from what is otherwise a decent design. Easily the weakest of the original starter forms, but still not bad by any means. 5/10

Who doesn’t love Charmander? It’s another pleasingly naturalistic looking creature, with a body somewhere between a salamander and a Don Bluth dinosaur that you could easily translate in a more realistic style. Cute, cool, and incredibly iconic for such a simple design. 8/10
