This one was lazy because I used multiply and a lighten of some sort. Blue and orange, as warm light makes cool shadows (opposed colors usually)

I was experimenting a lot on that one! But basically I drew teh character and flat colored it, then, in a multiply layer I used a dessaturated blue to make it darker. After that I started painting the highlights and places where light would be stronger!

I still have that problem and use that technique actually! Sketch brushes are very thin and hard to work with (but i love that crunch) I just lower the blur effect setting significantly and set the duplicated layer to multiply now!

thankies uwu when i do the skin i do the base color then i create a multipy layer on top shade with the simple cell technique and blend that after,then i create another multipy layer for the shadows,and one more multiply layer to darken the whole skin,after that i add highlights

most drawing applications should have the multiply layer, i believe that using it to shade rather than picking colors might help alot! it works on all skintones too so u dont have an excuse to avoid coloring darker skintones now if u see this!! >:3
