September 1st, 1939. Exactly 82 years ago the invasion of Poland started. Also known as the September campaign. It was an attack of Nazi Germany on the Republic of Poland. Later on the 17th Soviet Russia attacked from the east. This was the start of WW2.

In June 1961, John F Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev discussed a joined US-Soviet moon mission, working together and relaxing tensions between the two nations. But due to the building of the Berlin Wall and Kennedy’s assassination in 1963 the lunar mission never went ahead.
