Now, let's work with the projected shadows. When an object projects a shadow over another surface, it's not usually blurred. It's more solid (It can get blurry according to the distance and lighting, but that's too advanced, let's keep it simple)...

Keep in mind that not every shadow or light is blurred, so I don't recommend using an airbrush for everything, but you definitely should use it for the base shadows of the surface, to give it a 3D look.
