I had the pleasure of collaborating in (and illustrating) the report of a gannet (Sulidae) from the middle Miocene of Sesimbra, Portugal. Here is the coloured version of my reconstruction of the live animal.

Finished Kiriko! Mainly did this piece to learn how to draw with a darker setting with coloured lighting instead of direct sunlight, dare not say im good with it but i think its a great start at learning new ways to render!

Making an effort to do more quick coloured sketches just to get my ideas down.
Trying to convey a reasonable amount of clarity with them compared to my coloured line art.
Perhaps next time I do this I should benchmark the time it takes to complete each of these.
