With GBC palettes, Choice A makes it so that her dress and accessories are red (though her face and body don't match).

Using the lightest shade for her whole face makes things consistent, but her eyes lose detail and it can also raise issues in other sprites (e.g. 1UPs).

If you like psychological romance but less heavy, I suggest these two Haribo series on Lehzin, At the End of the Road & Mad Dog. The tops aren’t too much.
I have some issues with how ATEOTR resolve some things but an enjoyable read overall. Mad Dog is less popular but better imo.
