I don't really do too much with Krita's brush engine despite how crazy it is. So I started messin about and check this:

These images (except the 3rd & 4th) are done with 1 brush, 1 colour selected.
3rd is just blending the result of 1 with a basic smudge brush

I LOVE this.

Fourth step is to start blending it, I used water color brush and blur brush for this one. Of course, we also want to blend it with the base color of the skin. But be careful, don't over do it or it will look bad. Too much smudge is bad.

This is my second attempt at painting this. The first one has nothing but soft edges since I've been really too dependent on the smudge tool lately. I'm trying to open myself up to new things to add to my process, but I really shouldn't let myself get blinded

By the way, if you're wondering how Copic markers perform on whiteout, surprisingly well! I don't smudge ink that often anymore but it's good to know it's not the end of the world even if I mess up something as critical as Gengar's FACE 🤡
