day 13 for is the Puffleg Hummingbird, a big family o' birds so I picked the black-breasted puffleg

they're an endangered species native to Ecuador, where locals call them "zamarrito pechinegro" -- zamarros being furred chaps, a reference to its fluffy little pants!
