Finished my fanart illustration of
kusuriuri (medicine seller) from the anime ayakashi mononoke. I always loved this character and his design but he was quite a challenge to draw. this one will hopefully also be available as a print at Abunai con next week!

1997: Almost every significant release from this year is on my “shame” list, so my answer is Princess Mononoke, a wonderful movie that’s not even one of my favorite Ghibli movies.
It’s a staggering achievement, though. The huge, urgent thematics, the unreal visuals—an all-timer.
The Studio Ghibli orchestra concert in London this weekend has been postponed again. I get it, covid is rife right now and I’m sure it will be worth the wait. When I do eventually see it I will cry the second they play anything from Mononoke, Spirited Away or Howls

Kiki's posture and expression contrasted with Princess Mononoke. The simplicity but memorability of their costumes.
