Work continues on learning pixel art. Here's some potion bottles I was working on. The ones that are just outlines were me messing around trying to find shapes that work, and those didn't work. #pixelart
Outer lining (Optional)
At this point you can group all your layers, make a duplicate and merge the second group so that you have a back up.
With the merged layer you can liquify any mistakes and add an optional outline to make your emote more visible when small.
I am near the end of the line work and shading outlines. The JOJO animation is my longest piece of work that isn't in parts. Hopefully I will be able to post the wip soon. Also Congrats to @scorbunnydream on the promotion post for @ProjectSpoot. Now back to work!
@a_sam_ko_ I think I understand now. It looks a lot better when I draw the outlines. (Sorry I used my phone). Is this correct?

During a portfolio review, someone told an illustrator that characters’ eyes NEED to have a black outline or else kids won’t be able to see them.
Too bad no one told Bemelmans, Blake, Vincent, or Fujikawa. They would have had great careers.

On my older portfolios (deviantart and instagram) you can find drafts and studies with seemingly the opposite (but in core the same) approach:
head fully outlined @ body not outlined
face fully outlined (including ears) @ neck, hair and horns are not
I have spot an interesting pattern.
I do not use full outline on my art, even on portraits/characters.
But when I do, I outline the whole body. But not the head
