That does raise questions in my mind as well. I like to think like some kind of battle suit mechanisms. But some of the other art from 40k on space marines have exaggerated proportions as well. I love the red line drawings people have done. 🤣

Hot take but the only NoTP of mine so far is Ren x Stimpy.
I think that their dynamic/relationship is too wacky, exaggerated, and played for laughs to be taken seriously as a healthy relationship to the point where it can get uncomfortable in certain degrees.

One thing I think anime does better than general western animation is exaggerated expressions(specifically anger, fear, and sadness) When characters are angry or upset you feel it because the visuals are so visceral. I don’t feel that as strongly with western animation.
