After doing a lot of background work for the past couple of months, I can safely say that my biggest strength is not using highlights or making a "painted" setting. It's using a single layer to painstakingly use each line to create a proper backdrop that fits the situation.

ANYWAYS, jokes aside, this is likely the version I'll end up using. Had a few "Is... is that blood? IS THE BIRD OK?!" responses to the palette, and this is clean and can be reversed easily for a dark backdrop, or really any context, so eyyyy.
