I just got access to Dall E 2, the AI service that creates novel images from text descriptions and edits existing images.
Playing with this is going to be fun!
DALL-E also appears to associate greater naturalism and detail to the 17th c. compared to the 16th (though not always). This also fits a conventional narrative re. the development of scientific image-making in this period. But, again, things are not that straightforward!
I played around in dall-e to make an avatar and this is what I came up with (after some image editing to remove stray lines etc). I'm torn on whether I actually want to switch to this on my twitter though, being a plushie is kind of my Brand now?
