For anyone iffy about Red's placement, consider:

If there's no other MC, Red is US, and the 'world' can only go forward, if we WIN, if Red lost, he would come back to a pokecenter, BEFORE the match, time reverts. He literally cannot lose.

Also he might have a Mewtwo lol
