Maintaining value structure is key for great artwork.

If your image becomes confusing and hard to figure out - your work is becoming 'muddy'.

To figure out how to fix this, use a Posterize filter.

ART TIP: Bind brush size increase and decrease (+-) to accessible keys (mine is W and S) to have greater freedom and control during your process.

Helps you add more variety to strokes. You'd be surprised at what you can do with just a single soft brush and size controls.
