We chose to paint the wives from diverse backgrounds and different ages to represent the fact that the abuse of women has no borders and is perpetrated the world over. The red tear represent women's suffering.

An underrated 'video gamey' design trope is using little cliffs as borders. How many neighborhoods have you been in that were surrounded by little cliffs? I don't feel like I've ever seen a 3-10 foot cliff and yet they're everywhere in games.
