Given he states 3d modeling, I think he fell victim to one of the easy mistakes with using a doll reference and over-rotated the joint

Also, your second sketch is actually more correct to the arm position of Zwerchhau

Yeah I think it's a strange design but it does look very much more like a Sloth, I would not be able to tell what the second design is supposed to be. The hair looked a lot better before though. For me it's Honduran White bat that I liked before better.
