熊本県、草隅越の峠に現れたという妖怪。
ただ姿の伝承は残っておらずハッキリしていない。 噂話をすると現れるらしいが、襲われた記述もなく単に驚かすのが好きなだけかも。
最近は同地方のアマビエの方が有名になってしまい、影が薄くなりつつあるとか…

イギリスに伝わる不気味な犬の姿をした妖精。
別名ブラックドッグ。死んだ囚人が化けたという説もある。
死の女神ヘカテがブラックドックを従属させていたことが転じ、今作では魔女が信仰するもの、または魔女のお供、使いとされることも。

日本の山に住み、人をさらったり迷った旅人を食べてしまうと言われる老婆。
東北から九州まで言い伝えがあり地域により伝承は様々。
中には人里にやってきて人々の仕事を手伝ういい山姥もいたり、金太郎の母親も山姥（になる前の女性）だったという説も。

背の周囲が2.5kmあり、頭を出してる姿は遠目から島に見えるほど。
