I think people often forget how many fans absolutely despised this design when Gen 4 was still new

As much as HTML for text formatting is intuitive, I still despise using it because I've used rich text editors 90% of my life.
But I guess in Homestuck fics you can't really escape it. It also doesn't help when you have characters with messy typing quirks 😬
