Edgy Evey? W H Y N O T.
*remember to put her back in her box otherwise this hairball will multiply herself*
I decided to try out them Layer Multiply trick I used for my comic on an ink traced drawing I did last year, which in of itself is based on a drawing i did in 2014. And here it is compared to the original. #AngryBirds #angrybirdstoons
a ref and a random piece I wanted to make! I tried a layer thing with the more complicated piece and it worked out well (The thing was multiply) so I'll be using that from now on!
Please don't judge I haven't really tried out the layer stuff such as multiply, except for darken-
on top of that, add another Multiply layer the same color of the shadow that covers the entirety of your character (adjust opacity as you like, my purple layers are all on 75% for the record). That will make the chara blend in their surroundings.

okay, so you got your flats and shadows done. the first thing you wanna make sure of is that your shadows are a cold color (in my case, purple) and preferably on Multiply mode.
And here's the Mothman, RUN!
Nah, it's just the shading in Normal type of layer, instead of multiply. Poor thing's got the pinkeye.

All shadow work is done in a multiply layer, that looks like this! I usually use colors that will match with the bouncing lights so that the character fits in nicely with the bg. I tend to lock the layer and add different tones where needed!
another color correction, turns out multiply is a kinda wack layer mode for doing shading with https://t.co/UKpSjXL334
Dream Bats! 🦇🦇🦇 Had a blast designing these mischievous dream bats that have the ability to hypnotize, latch onto frightened dreamers and multiply! 😱😴 #CharacterDesign #Bats #Dreamscape
Belated B-day gift for fellow clonethusiest @scootflippo of his cute multiplying OC, CC.
Looking forward to #clonekink2021 !

I have no idea what this shape is...
the node group "Sine", "Power", "Multiply", "e (exponential)" is just complex version of the math operation that take X as real part and Y as imaginary part.
Ya ever turn a multiply or lineart layer off and things look mildly possessed? Cuz same. X'D

@minniechanart @sygnin Really interesting thread, love this topic. I think my method is quite different from many of yours, I attach the base colors first, then use each base color+multiply layer mode as the line color in order to keep the colors more consistent
