I really do find Kanekos modern style doesn’t really retrofit onto smt1 well. Granted the more modern art here is still pretty old but idk. Smt1 just had a different vibe than the rest of the series.

With Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, of the 5 young key animators that worked on the original Little Witch Academia OVA, 3 of them have become character designers. Sakamoto did Gridman, Handa did LWA TV, and Kaneko is assisting Yoshinari on Edgerunners. Trigger did well fostering talent.
