I've spent the last few years using a lines/colour flats/shading layers workflow because it's quick and consistent, and my attention span means I need to finish pictures quickly or I get fed up with them.

Even the more rendered pictures are very much about the inking/linework.

I think it can be done right if they don't show every angle that a typical 3D animation would. A bigger emphasis shading and linework has a giant role in this too.

The linework looks shaky again, though it appears to more digital, like with a 'noise' brush. More noticable watercolor-like splotches with the highlights and shades. Looks more rough/sloppy/grungy in certain parts.
