sorry for the low res, im not at my desk, but like here — i set the lineart layer to multiply and started painting flats bemeath, and now the lines are totally lost in the colors. all the clean definition is gone and I can’t tell if it’s like a lineweight issue, a contrast issue

I use a bright purple multiply layer (hot pink also works for me) on ~20% opacity on top of my flat colours and then just kinda,,,wing it
usually it kinda helps me to fill the whole thing in with the shading colour and then erase the parts that are lit

A gorgon boi that I bought from a while ago! I named him Alexei, and he works as an "inflator for hire"
His pretty hair snakes can bloat people with a multiplying venom that can either reduce people to fatty blobs, or blow them up like balloons. It also works on him.

Then I make a layer under lines but over color. Fill with a mid tone. I like purple. On this layer, block in the shading. Push the lights and darks, set to multiply, adjust the colors if you want.

Hi, I'm experimenting with new styles but idk any other methods of drawing than- lineart-> colors-> slap a bunch od multiply layers-> slap a bunch of overlay layers-> a bunch of add layers bellow and above lineart-> create a mess... pls help me, some tips would be appreciated

If you want a look into how I make art.
I do it all on my phone with the medibang app.

Most of the coloring and shading is all done on the same layer. I pick the colors myself instead if a multiply layer. And sometimes I dont sketch and go straight to lines.

Alright! So after I have the two multiply layers, I add an Overlay one, and then, an Add Glow one for details -and one on top of the lineart for other glows-
