Since Rowlet is a starter for Legends, I'd like to remind everyone about this
Seeing a lot of people wonder why Cyndaquil was chosen alongside Oshawott & Rowlet, as those seem obvious picks for the game's setting given they evolve into a samurai and an archer. My guess: Johto is the region with the closest ties to Japan's past, and required representation.

@tianshi_nao It's funny, I've never picked a grass type starter, but I think this time around I would go with rowlet, because I like decidueye even though the Final Fantasy VIII fan in me loves typhlosion because of this gijinka.

I feel stupid for not realizing sooner that they chose Rowlet and Oshawott as starters for the feudal Japan game because their final evos are a samurai and an archer respectively. Curious how Typhlosion fits in though.
I knew I choose right to invest in calling myself Rowlet :3 and having him as mascot. I got all dem stonks
@Azure_Azulity I like some of the like lighting stuff they're doing, but I really hope the environments get more fleshed out. Right now it feels kinda bare.
I definitely don't want to overhype myself on this one but I have high hopes!

Fav Fire: Torchic
Fav Water: Froakie
Fav Starter Trio as a Whole: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. Turtwig is my second fav grass and Empoleon is amazing. Infernape had a cool look so they round out the best for me
