basically, contrast and shadows are important

(i removed the lineart layer of one of my drawings as an example)

Cleaner lines help a lot in simpler drawings I cleaned up the arm as an example
The line art needs more contrast it blends in with the hair a bit
The skirt looked a bit detached from the torso
And adding filters to the colors can help them look better and less plain

here raphs color is red and mikeys is orange. the colors felt too mixed together and tied with their green skins i felt theyd look messy almost? So i used a blue underpaint to add in color contrast

Nobody asked but i wanted to talk about it a bit... when coloring im usually think of palettes, specyally formthe underpaint. So that i can make the piece be cohezie with harmony but still have enough hue contrast not to look muddy

Does this make sense ? 🧍
