Nekros Warmaster "Progress Despite Everything" skin. The anatomy is goofy and the lighting is whack but I'll try better next time. Experimented on just blocking colors and refining infinitely. Many pros as there were cons but lotsa new things learned!

Designing platformer levels for unrestricted flight is pretty tough. The biggest issues are scale, player direction, and progression. Still refining the details. For now, here's a screenshot of a mostly scrapped tropical layout prototype.

Put together the 3 sketches of Bumble showing the progress and changes I made along the way while refining the design. Overall the idea didn't change too much, just changing his magic from using weapons, to summoning magic bees, shortening the hair, and the position of his belts

A lot of refining a painting for me is designing shapes with a hard brush, moving everything around until I find my composition. The render part is fairly quick after that! How do you like to work? share your process/tips below
