I take the colour of the outline, plop it above colours and texture. Then, I just manually adjust size and intensity with a brush tool. Then, if the shadow is still too dark i just lower the opacity.

Thank you!! And oh I use a fuzzy texture brush in procreate, it’s called Bonobo Chalk. I make bunch of colored sections w it on a separate layer and then set it on Overlay ☺️

"Pieces" created because I sometimes like drawing my feelings, I guess. :) I wanted hard textures for the cracks of his face that would play against his soft fleshly areas where his tears fall. And then pair cool greenish blue colors against angry deep reds. I love his blue lips

I wanted to achieve the extra dramatic effect with rim lighting from monitors in a dark room. Everything is really rough, and I barely use undo, instead I paint over, achieving a more textured effect. I mainly use eraser to achieve clean edges.
