Both Bulbpedia and the Chines wiki haven't mentioned anything about why Rellor has a human face. In general I think that's basically a stereotype of a theif or a nightman sorta character. It reminds me of Gazeem from Aladdin. But I addmit I would rather see a more ordinary bug.

Like, I know we haven't seen a lot of Sonic insects, but if we look at how they're handled... You just take the basic 30s character design and stick a couple bug elements on, and you have a bug. Just like how they were handled in classic cartoons
