Ian Flynn has stated that his least favorite character to write for is Shadow. This is due to all the mandates surrounding the character placed by Sega.

As a result, he tries to minimize Shadow's appearances in the comic to not have to bother with him.

重 means heavy/layered and 雲 is cloud.
Together it means densely layered clouds. It also carried the hint of cold and shadow. Pretty much fits 重雲’s personality🥺
