When I started digitally painting and instead of doing multiple layers for shading I just did it on one layer and would just change the blending mode of my brush if I needed to (I secioned different parts like hair and body and such into different layers of course)

Not sure if this is helpful but I just like to play around with greyscale and multiple compositions before I start rendering

Think about what you want to reflect in the character through a still image alone - it helps you establish what mood/pose you are going for! :D

Truth be told I rarely ever use layers how theyre supposed to; I mostly just draw on one or two

I just enable and disable multiple layers to stop my canvas from looking like a wasteland

2023/01/24: Bloons TD6. Fun tower defense game with skill trees per unit, multiple "hero" units that level up, tons of skins and achievements and daily missions. Totally addictive. Very fun but I'll stay away from it or it will suck all my free time. Cleared 80 rounds or so.
