Sometimes I can't get off my phone because the internet is addicting. Other times it's because I don't want to do anything. And other times it's because of executive dysfunction.

Sometimes when I get really manic I feel like I'm vibrating out of my skin, like I'm completely out of control, and about to explode.

Being an adult doesn't mean stopping all behaviours that fill you with childish glee, and throwing away everything that fuels your inner child. It's okay to hold onto things that make you happy, and aren't rated 18+.

One text conversation takes some effort for me to concentrate on. Two text conversations take all of my concentration. Three conversations? No. That third person is being put on hold.

I hate when I want to add something to a conversation, but it takes me so long to think of something to say that by the time I've thought of it the conversation has moved on to another topic, and saying what I originally wanted to say would just be awkward.

There are many ways to show people love. Sending funny memes is one of them, and you can't convince me otherwise.

It's bad enough when people try to use disabled people to gain clout, but it's even worse when those people get offended when they're called out on it. It's not "doing us a favour". It's annoying.

Just being treated like a human being when having a meltdown is such a luxury that not many of us are awarded.

Too often when an autistic person succeeds in something their autism is never looked at as a possible factor for their success. They just see autism as a hurdle that has zero positive effects.

24 hours notice is an absolute minimum. My preference is 3-5 business days.

"High Functioning" and "Low Functioning" just seem to be labels for how well an autistic person can function within capitalism. They're not used to help us. They're used by neurotypicals to determine our worth in their eyes.

When people tell me to "be normal" they're telling me to "be neurotypical" and I'm just not for that.

If I don't have a list, or a memo, or just anything to remind me of something I'm going to forget it. My phone has so many alerts on it just to remind me to post my comics.

Autistic adults aren't child-minded. Don't infantilize us, talk down to us, or belittle us. We are adults, and we deserve to be treated as such.

Dear brain: if I'm tired all day and want nothing more than to go to bed, please don't keep me awake when I finally get to said bed. Thank you.

Having a name for something you're dealing with is such a useful tool. Not only can you do your own research, you can also reach out to others who also deal with it, as well as talk to a doctor or therapist about it.

I could say exactly what's on my mind and some neurotypicals will still think there's some secret meaning behind what I'm saying.

And people wonder why autistics have such issues when it comes to communicating.

I have dysgraphia, and I hate how clumsy my hands are because of it. I drop things, knock things over, have trouble grabbing things. It's so annoying!

It's astounding how much of an affect anxiety can have on the body. Honestly 2020 wrecked my body from anxiety alone.

I always prefer morning appointments because I always find myself not wanting to start anything out of fear that I'll lose track of time and miss my appointment, so I spend the day sitting around doing nothing.
