Low poly modeling in Blender is great for blocking out backgrounds or figure out how to foreshorten something. hmmmmmm, action lines maybe? like determining the main direction the oc goes and then expanding on that to get a stickman drawing
it helps to read poses sometimes

more advice would be dont worry about blocking parts of the face, torsos are underrated in poses and just practice!
