Ivysaur takes everything I like about Bulbasaur and makes it better. It’s a little more complex, a little “cooler”, but still feels believable as a fictional creature. The palette is hugely improved here too, the colours contrast so nicely! 9/10
Bulbasaur is among my favourite starter Pokémon and perfectly encapsulates what I feel most Pokémon should be; not exactly like any real animal but with pleasant, organic shapes that feels sensible and looks like nothing else. It’s also just a cool little quasi-reptile! 8/10
