MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (1932).

A pre-code that eludes me no more! It's not on the level of the major 1930s classics, but the film is well paced and more explicit than I expected. I should know by now with pre-code films.

My 50 picks for inclusion in the National Film Registry, some absurd, some legitimate, but all genuine Pagan Hollywood favorites. I'll post five per day.

No. 11 - The Black Cat (Edgar G. Ulmer, 1934), with Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Julie Bishop & David Manners.
