I loved learning earlier about @MdeBellard’s inspiration from the pre-Raphaelites. They often used oil on canvas, a tool well suited for realistic paintings. Her recent tool of choice, procreate, is a great digital tool to accomplish similar stylistic choices . 🕰💪➡️ Perfection https://t.co/6pEo02KkCu

#BTD in 1828, Dante Gabriel Rossetti was an English painter, poet and illustrator. He was one of the original founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Here are just four of his beautiful dreamy paintings.
Overall the pre-raphaelites painted a lot of mythological women with red hair, Guinevere yet, but not only Guinevere - even other colour hair started to look red with the colour treatment. Redhair it was all about the red hair. Hunt & Hughes / James Archer #MythologyMonday

#BornThisDay in 1849, John William Waterhouse painted in the style of the Pre-Raphaelites and his beautiful subject matter was often based on Greek mythology, Arthurian legends and authors such as Shakespeare, Tennyson and Keats.
The painting for years has been attributed to the famous Pre-Raphaelite Edward Burne-Jones... in fact, Evelyn De Morgan (née Pickering) was the author of this work. 📘Learn more: https://t.co/MFQhx74ePA
