My #Drepanomania entry is based around Hypuronector descendants rather than Drepanosaurus ones, in a timeline where pterosaurs didn't succeed. #sciart
Therapist: David Peters pterosaurs aren't real, they can't hurt you.
David Peters pterosaurs:
Is it #PortfolioDay ? Allo, I am a PhD student that studies pterosaurs for a living - and when not doing that - I draw pterosaurs for a living. It's a lot of pterosaurs.
Pterosaurs rly had some of the coolest profiles of any animals. Dsungaripterus.
Quick Anurognathus Sketches (Yes, he looks like Stitch!)

Scaphognathids are one of best pterosaurs, smol, short snout, big eyes - underappreciated
Spending my day working on a #paleoart commission of darwinopteran pterosaurs - critters like Darwinopterus, Kunpengopterus, and Cuspicephalus (below). These are fun animals to draw thanks to having all the best bits of pterosaur anatomy: big heads, big crests, and long tails.
For #FossilFriday, some #paleoart from 2016: the azhdarchid that would eventually become Cryodrakon is scavenged by a variety of dinosaurs and pterosaurs. I should do top-down views more often, they're fun to execute and interesting to look at.
This a pretty cool pterosaur! Welcome to Kariridraco dianae by Cerqueira et al. in: "A new azhdarchoid pterosaur from the Lower #Cretaceous of #Brazil and the paleobiogeography of the Tapejaridae" - https://t.co/i75nq7uKvc

With the focus on Ubirajara lately, I think it's a good time to point out that the AMNH has a large collection of Brazilian fossils that were acquired illegally. It includes pterosaurs like this Anhanguera sp. (AMNH 22555) as well as a multitude of fishes and invertebrates.
@Twtzaupdates this is the arambourgiania and it was one of the largest pterosaurs and may have had a wingspan of up to 13 meters. also they're like. missing 1/3 of the one bone they have for it
Another pixel art I made, this is darwinopterus linglongtaensis.
Also I'm currently working on a pixel animation with edaphosaurus, so it'll be ready soon.

That amazing Tupandactylus was finally published by Beccari et al. in #PLoSONE. Loads of data on skeletal proportions (suggestive of terrestrial behaviour, perhaps) and a rare, fair suggestion of the mutual sexual selection hypothesis :) https://t.co/6M7CBGHN5Q #pterosaurs
