Threes being very relevant in this game (number and reference,) Spamton reflecting the ghost trio and also being a quasi-parallel to Mad Dummy/Mad Mew Mew, Spamton's typing (Cat/Puppet) probably is an allusion to Mi-Ke and the whole 'tricolor' theme (RGB, CMY).

In a way, the final panel is meant to make it looks more dramatic, but also at the same time it's also meant to look ironically overdramatic, the same way the ending of the first issue was, but with a different texture, reflecting the changes of growing up and getting older.
