one detail i liked about chihaya's character in oblivion battery is that he didn't necessarily give up once he encountered geniuses in baseball. he kept working hard regardless but what made him break was his feeling of jealousy and his aversion to such feelings
and that he's able to keep up DESPITE that gap between background, upbringing, education and opportunities, etc etc that person regularly cooks in regards to Norton. . . something that shouldn't be so scarce 😭

otomo's reliability during matches even when nervous impresses both ashito and kuribayashi. i love that they regard him as a genius bc he does his job no matter the circumstance and becomes a steady pillar for the team, highlighting how difficult this skill really is
