I like the theory that the Strawhats correspond to the Chinese Zodiac.
Yamato is associated with the Dog (Oguchi no Makami) and the Ox/Ram (Oni with Horns).
Especially with the Dog.
But the Dog is represented in Ch. 651 by Chopper (Tanuki).
And the Ox and Ram by Franky and Sanji.
