I think something I need to try and do more as an artist, is try less to nail details when using reference. And focus more on simplifying said details to match my style.

From the neck up looks good. But everything else suffers due to me trying to match the reference.

oh yeah one of my fav things to do is simplify a handful of champs' designs and turn them into toony little guys based on some of my hcs. so here we have starguardian / schoolgirl akali with a ":3" mask and also, star guardian lux and jinx except theres actual resemblance
