Finally, I painted the final product of peeled tubers in a basket made of club-rush tuber stems, a reminder that this chaîne opératoire didn’t happen in a vacuum but was part of a wider taskscape, the harvesting and processing of the tubers served multiple goals.

Animation that appeals to a wider audience ironically are the ones that are the easier targets. Because as soon as you take themes that are mature and make them palatable to both adults and kids, suddenly it's just for kids.

But honestly? It's fine, young artists just take time to find a wider range of inspirations than the anime and shows they grew up on. Your range will grow as you care less about approval and find more to learn from.
